Digital commission of a pet or person portrait for an individual £50

A conservative estimate for a commission is 1-2 days. The suggested day rate for an artist of my experience is £193 (Artist Newsletter 2011).

I have set my digital pet/people portrait price at £50 for this the client receives a bespoke artwork (an A4 signed one of print with mount) and liaises with the artist at the draft stage about any preferred changes (within reason).

I will ask for a non-retunable deposit of 25% of the price of each print commissioned (£12.50 per print).

If you want to commission a portrait of your pet here’s the process:

• Pay a non-returnable deposit of £12.50 per print you wish to commission (by cash, cheque or bank transfer).
• Message me and send a high quality photograph .
• Ill make a line drawing from the photograph then add colour and texture using Adobe Photoshop Elements.
• I’ll send you a draft image. You approve the artwork and I’ll print it on photo paper using real Canon inks.
• Once the print is dry and the funds are in my account I’ll send the print by recorded delivery sandwiched between 2 sheets of grey-board in an A4 cello-bag or you can make arrangements to collect the print.

The artist (that’s me) retains the copyright to use this image on a greetings card but will not sell another print although may exhibit the artists proof of the work (the only other print of your commission in existence). If you would prefer your pet not to feature on a card then let me know and Ill give you the ‘one off’ price.

Most commissions take two days. I have set my price for an A4 acrylic painting on a paper/card support with an A3 mount at £100.This price is for a trial period to assess demand and is subject to change.

I will ask for a non-retunable deposit of 25% of the price of each painting commissioned (£25.00). The reason the deposit is non-retunable is because a fair amount of work will be undertaken initially when you instruct me as an artist to make an original painting for you.

An estimated time scale will be provided on receipt of the brief

I have made wallpapers for web sites, banners for online shops, business cards for small independent retailers and designed company logos.

Once given details of the brief (what you need doing) I will give you a fixed quote. The quote covers initial line drawing (for approval) and then digital  colour work . I will ask for a 25 % non returnable deposit when you commission the work.

Examples of estimated times for completion of a brief:

4 to 6 hours Logo design; Web banners (blogs, sites, Big Cartel, Etsy, Folksy etc); Posters, flyers

2 hours Wallpaper for website/blog/online shop etc

1- 2 hours Business cards where artwork is already supplied; icons or small badges for websites/blogs etc (buttons, badges)

£8.00 p/h estimated time scale will be provided on receipt of the brief (with details of royalty agreements etc in the artists contract)

The client will be supplied with a digital copy of the artwork.
Printing can be arranged for an additional fee depending on requirements.
